Breitenbach & Brown

The Christopher Locke Interview

Hello. I haven’t done anything around here for a while now have I? I’ve been busy haven’t I? But I’ve been here, lurking and keeping an eye on all of you - especially Breitenbach.

Well, look (or listen) to this then. I am very proud to present this interview between myself and Mr. Christopher Locke; co-author of The Cluetrain Manifesto, author of “Gonzo Marketing: Winning Through Worst Practices” and he has a rather splendid blog called Mystic Bourgeoisie
too.

As you can hear from the interview we enjoyed ourselves and are planning to do these podcasts on a regular basis.

I hope you enjoy it. No, really I do. How have you all been?

  1. John Says:

    What have I done?

  2. You genic?, my genic? All God’s chillin’ got genics.

BTW: Does Munich translate as ‘the eunuchs of Mu’? Asian Aryans, you know.

  3. Jon Husband Says:

Yes, Gonzo Marketing is indeed an excellent book, and yes it came out at almost exactly the wrong time … plus it probably told things too straight for the times.

  4. bob Says:

hilarious. great podcast and hope you do another. but how did 10 years go by!?

  5. Ashley Says:

Well I did indeed listen to the whole 40 minutes because Chris e-mailed me and typed listen here then conveniently supplied a link. I have been following Clocke like an annoying little Australian voice since, well, sometime after I purchased Cluetrain Manifesto and even though I have bantered across in e-mails it is good to hear the man speak.

Just send me the next listen here and convenient link please.

  6. MarcusBrown Says:

John - yes John, it’s all your fault.

Mr. Bender - careful with conundrums they may get you into all sorts of trouble.

Jon - you’re right, a time to revisit it I think.

Bob - glad you liked the podcast, it really was a lot of fun to do.

Ashley, we will try to make it as convenient as possible for you.

  7. Pedde Says:

I loved that! Can’t await the upcoming “Locke back off Brown” podcasts.

Thanks Chris, thanks Marcus, thanks Sarah Connor!

  8. hope Says:

he sounds so much better in emails! Thanks for the chat, would love a regular gig betwixt you two!

  9. Roland Says:

since comments are not that appreciated, this is to remind me and google, that i really enjoyed this piece of content.

  10. Any interview in which my name is mentioned is a good interview indeed. Actually, however, I was thoroughly enjoying it even before that part. (By the way, in the interests of fairness, I have to say that my partner Ron Kaye actually coined the term “hustledork.”)

In any event, this was forty minutes well spent, and I do hope that you two do this on a regular basis.

  11. enthusemarc Says:

Yeah, that was pretty good, but… streamed flash audio on a web page isn’t (strictly speaking) a “podcast” now, is it? I’d need to capture the stream, convert it to MP3 and *then* load it into my ‘pod - by which point, I’ve probably already heard it.

This of course is no reason not to keep doing it.

  12. Rob Holland Says:

BTW, Chris, you were outed when you tweeted about the freak snowstorm in Denver the other day.

  13. royeh Says:

    Rageboy rants!

    Great.

    TNX for the link, Chris.

  14. [...] Twitter Black Belt and I sold my twitter account for a magical $51. Over on Breitenbach & Brown I got to interview someone that pretty much influenced everything I’ve done over the last 11 y… (don’t tell him, but the grumpy old sod is a bit of a hero of [...]
